Argentina
Many foreigners can stay in Argentina for up to 90 days without a visa. The 90 day tourist visa can be extended for a maximum of 180 consecutive days.1

Those who have overstayed their visa must pay a fine at Ezeiza International Airport, Jorge Newbery Airport, Sede Central Edificio 6, or Delegación de esta Dirección Nacional.2

Digital Nomad Visa
Foreigners who do not require a tourist visa to enter Argentina can apply for a digital nomad visa to stay up to 180 days.3
Requirements include:
- Evidence of occupation such as a contract, company guarantee, documented work request, certifications or income receipts/ fees and at least one reference related to your occupation
- CV indicating education, training, and industry experience

Temporary Residence
There are 13 categories of temporary residence for non-MERCOSUR nationals including4:
- Family Reunification - foreigners whose spouse, parent, or unmarried child (under 18) is a temporary resident of Argentina5
- Requirements include:
- Birth or marriage certificate verifying the familial relation
- Temporary residence permit of the family member
- Landlord - foreigners can receive up to 1 year extendable temporary residence as landlords6
- Landlords must verify the origin of funds used to buy property or income generated from properties
- Pension - foreigners who receive a pension from a foreign government, company, or organization can get temporary residence for up to 1 year and renewable for up to 3 years at a time afterwards.7
Permanent Residence
Those who meet the following requirements can obtain permanent residence8:
- spouse, parent, or son/daughter of an Argentine citizen
- spouse, parent, or son/daughter (under 18) of an Argentine permanent resident
- Argentine temporary resident for 3 consecutive years (2 years for MERCOSUR nationals)
All applicants will need a permanent address, regular salary, and no criminal convictions for past 3 years.9
Argentine Citizenship
There are 2 ways foreigners can obtain Argentine citizenship. Once Argentine citizenship is granted it cannot be revoked.

- Must be the son or daughter of an Argentine citizen
- 18 years of age or older
- Those under 18 must have their parents/ guardians complete the application on their behalf
Naturalization11
Requirements include:
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 years of uninterrupted residence in Argentina, certified by the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (except for those married to an Argentine citizen or with an Argentine son or daughter)
- Poof of livelihood: contract, work certificate, or paystub. For the self-employed, proof of income
